3. Before laying the floor, treat top surface of consolidated earth within the plinth walls with TC-Chemical solution at the rate of 5Lit, per square meter. Ensure back fill against foundation is treated to its full depth.
Builders should be informed that any disruption of barrier during later construction work (e.g. creation of gardens over the treated barrier), may lead to untreated gaps.
1. Treatment to masonry foundation
Dig shovel width trench close to the external wall of the
building exposing foundation wall surface up to a depth
of 50 cm. Apply TC-Chemical solution at the rate of 1.5 Lit
per running meter of the channel per 10 cm depth for
uniform dispersal of the chemical, make 30 to 50 cm deep
holes at 15 cm apart all along this trench by help of 12mm
diameter mild steel rod, it necessary. If there is a concrete
or masonry apron around the building, drill 12 mm holes
near plinth wall, each 30 cm apart and pump TC-Chemical
solution to soak the soil below at the rate of 2.25 to 10 Lit
per linear meter. (As international recommendations of
10 Lit. per linear meter.)
2. Treatment under the floor The termites are likely to seek entry through the floor at the junction of the floor and walls, floor surface and at construction joints due to defects or expansions. Create barrier beneath the floor, by drilling 12 mm holes at the junction of floors and wall, along the cracks on the floor & the constructional joints at 30 cm apart vertically through the floor reaching the soil below. TC-Chemical solution shall be squirted at up to 30Lit per hole seal holes properly.
3. Treatment of wall, roof & undertiles Drill holes in masonry wall at a downward angle of about 45 degrees preferably from "both sides of the plinth wall at 30cm dist. TC-Chemical 1% solution is squirted through these holes till refusal or maximum of 1 Lit per hole to soak the masonry using hand operated pressure pump. This treatment shall also be extended to internal walls having foundations in the soil.
